JOB: ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

SALARY: 26-28K + STUDY SUPPORT, HYBRID

LOCATION: LEEDS, WEST YORKSHIRE

Voted the best new venue in the World (2014), The First Direct Arena is now Leeds’ major entertainment venue hosting live music, comedy, entertainment, shows and sporting events. They are operated by ASM Global, a venue management powerhouse spanning 5 continents and operating more than 350 arenas, stadiums, convention centres and theatres.

Due to a period of continued growth and exciting future plans, they have created a new opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to support the Finance Business Partner. You will help provide quality management information by assisting with the production of management accounts from journal stage to monthly packs and detailed forecasting and budgeting. You will also work closely with the Venues General Manager, departmental heads, and the central transactional finance team who are based at ASM’s UK Head Office in Manchester.

Specific Requirement:

You will carry out an all-encompassing role which will include:

• Helping provide high quality MI and detailed commercial financial analysis of the operations to support decision making.
• Attending monthly meetings with Department Heads to discuss financial results and forecasts.
• Assisting with the preparation of annual departmental budgets, monthly reforecasts, and monthly packs for Business Reviews.
• Assisting with the preparation of MI for European Group Finance team.
• Preparing event settlements, event flash and sales reports, and weekly performance trackers.
• Helping prepare reports for landlords/external stakeholders.
• Preparing month end journals and process in Finance System, along with balance sheet reconciliations.
• Supporting the preparation of audit files and audit queries.
• Preparing workings for venue VAT return on a quarterly basis.
• Completing FEU & PRS returns.
• Calculating promoter rebates.
• Carrying out safe/petty cash counts and reconciliations.
• Ad hoc project work as directed by the Commercial Accountant/Finance Business Partner.

Skills & Experience required:

• Part Qualified ACCA/CIMA or Part/Fully Qualified AAT or finance graduate with a few years relevant experience.
• Possess the ambition to progress, as career opportunities exist within ASM Global.
• Thrive in a fast paced, commercial environment.
• Excellent planning, organisational and time management skills.
• Resilient, able to work well under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal, influencing and communication skills.
• Competent Excel skills including formulas.
• A passion for the events and music industry would prove advantageous.
