The Business & Opportunity:
Newly created opportunity to lead the finance function of a business consisting of multiple Retail sites and an E-commerce operation. They are a reputable and prestigious high-end brand with shops across the UK. As part of the Senior Management team and working closely with the entrepreneurial Managing Director, you will play a key all-encompassing and add-value role.
As Financial Controller, you will manage a small accounts team, taking responsibility for overseeing end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis and improvements to procedures and controls.
They have a flexible working approach, meaning you can enjoy a mix working from home, together with time in their Headquarters in North Leeds.
Specific Requirement:
- Statutory Accounting for the main trading businesses;
- All-encompassing, varied, hands-on role;
- Liaison with Merchandising, Head of ecommerce and Buying and Retail directors;
- Manage Annual budgeting process;
- Key contact for 3rd parties, e.g. banks and auditors;
- Liaise with suppliers;
- Production of Management Accounts;
- Cash Management;
- Working Capital Management;
- Management of all functions - payroll, ledgers, VAT, FP&A;
- Managing current finance team of 2 people;
- Financial Analysis.
Skills & Experience Required:
Essential:
- 'No nonsense’ / sleeves rolled up person comfortable in dealing with the detail required , whilst also able to operate comfortably within the senior management team;
- Proficient in Excel (Sage a bonus);
- Thrive working in dynamic, fast paced environment;
- Comfortable dealing with a business with tight cash flow;
- Strong character to be able to have difficult conversations with clients and suppliers, and possess commercial acumen.
Advantageous:
- Experience in an entrepreneurial OMB / SME;
- Understanding of UK and Foreign supply chain importing rules and regulations;
- Experience of Working Capital Management;
- Understands Retail, EPOS and stock systems;
- Experience from an online/ecommerce business;
- Owned an audit process from start to finish.
