JOB: GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR
SALARY: SIX FIGURE SALARY + CAR + BONUS + HYBRID WORKING
LOCATION: NORTH YORKSHIRE
The Business & Opportunity:
Opportunity for a Group Finance Director to join a well-known, dynamic branded consumer goods company. They have established brands sold through multiple sales channels both across the North of England and Nationally. Following their recent acquisition by a private equity firm, you will play an instrumental role in helping analyse, strategise and execute their significant future growth plans.
Reporting to the CEO, you will have a key day-to-day, ongoing impact on company operations and be a pivotal driver of positive change. You will play a key role in developing procedures, control systems and effective financial performance management and analysis across the business, in order to drive growth and operational effectiveness.
Being an enthusiastic proponent of change, you will work with the senior leadership team to execute on projects and to drive positive improvements through the business.
You will be responsible for statutory accounts, tax, insurance, cash flow forecasting and group reporting. As the business grows, you will develop the finance function accordingly. You will be instrumental in providing strategic insights and information and be involved with any future M&A activities, including the provision of strong project management from planning to execution.
You will be based at the Groups Head Office, located North of Ripon, but they are also open to a hybrid working arrangement.
Specific Requirement:
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Working closely with the CEO to develop, track and analyse the company’s business plan.
- Developing the Head Office Finance function to support the needs of the growing Group.
- Facilitating financial planning and forecasting to produce robust plans.
- Liaising with and reporting to external stakeholders and investors.
- Ensuring the company is complying with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Working closely with service providers, auditors, PE House and the Bank.
- Implementing and standardising financial policies and procedures.
- Taking responsibility (either directly or via reports) for cash management, insurance, budgeting and financial reporting.
- Leading MRP/ finance system overhaul to ensure the IT systems are fit for purpose to meet the needs of the Group
- Ensuring that cash flows are compatible with operations by overseeing all accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control activities.
- Developing and implementing best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible business that has strong financial management, project coordination, cross-team communication and workflows.
- Researching new revenue opportunities and economic trends, analysis of internal operations and identifying areas for cost reduction and process enhancement.
- Manage finance staff and overseeing financial IT systems.
Skills & Experience required:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/ACMA).
- Experience from a business who have gone through private equity/turnaround.
- Ideally operated within a business involved with the production of product ranges.
- Able to command authority and credibility, who thrives in a cooperative environment, working with people at all levels across multiple functions and disciplines.
- Experience with M&A activity will prove advantageous.
- Previously operated at Finance Director level, together with strategic responsibility.
- Strong managerial skills to coach, inspire and develop team members to deliver high performance.
- Due to the change and growth of the business, you will be resilient and excel in a dynamic and demanding environment.
- Able to think outside the box and add real value throughout the exciting times ahead.
