JOB: PART-TIME COMPANY ACCOUNTANT

SALARY: 32-42K (FTE)

LOCATION: WAKEFIELD (WF3)

The Business & Opportunity:

Fantastic opportunity to join an owner managed, entrepreneurial family business with proud Yorkshire roots. Boasting an established and loyal customer base across the UK, within the professional and heritage sectors, they are experts in providing a cutting-edge service across technology, digitalisation and publishing.

Due to continued growth, they require someone on a part-time basis to take full responsibility for their accounts function. Hours can be flexible to suit you, which will equate to approximately 3 days per week. 

You will be based at their prestigious and impressive offices located between Leeds & Wakefield, easily commutable from all parts of West Yorkshire. They are also open to a hybrid working arrangement.

Requirement:

Reporting to the Managing Director, you will carry out a hands-on, all-encompassing Company Accountant role, taking full responsibility for all accountancy related tasks. This will include:

• Prepare monthly management accounts and other financial information to trial balance.
• Extend trial balance to P&L & Balance sheet reporting where required.
• Cash flow management, daily and weekly.
• Budgeting and forecasting.
• Division of Business unit’s reports (Publishing and Contract).
• Present, analyse and recommend findings of financial information to Directors, in order to aid decisions making.
• Manage the daily control of the treasury flow for both payments and receivables.
• Assist with cash collection & credit control.
• Participate in the maintenance of the information systems.
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Daily transactional postings, & maintenance of prime books of entry.
• Calculate monthly royalty payments.
• Manage credit card postings and reconciliation.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Either Qualified by Experience or Part/Fully Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA, ACMA, AAT.
• Likely to have worked in an SME, where you have performed a varied role.
• Highly organised, self-motivated, excellent communicator and a good eye for detail.
• Commercially astute with a pro-active attitude to be able to analyse problems and help with decision making.
• A working knowledge of Sage will prove beneficial.
