JOB: MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

SALARY: 35-38K + STUDY SUPPORT + BENEFITS

LOCATION: GARFORTH, LEEDS (+ HYBRID)

The Business & Opportunity:

Fantastic opportunity to join a renowned and established Leeds based business operating within the hospitality and leisure industry. They operate at venues of all sizes and have exclusivity at prominent sporting, entertainment and cultural locations across the UK.

This current requirement is for a Management Accountant to join their successful £20m turnover operation. It’s a newly created opportunity due to their continued growth. As the business is part of a wider global group, future progression opportunities exist, so will appeal to enthusiastic and ambitious candidates. (Study support is provided if required).

You will be based at their prestigious offices on the East side of Leeds, together with the flexibility of working 1 day per week from home.

Specific Requirement:

As part of a close-knit team, you will support the Finance Manager in the preparation of monthly management accounts and assist with ensuring appropriate control measures are adhered to. This will include:

• Produce Management Info including employee costings and cost of sales analysis.
• High level of interaction with operational teams, evaluating and ratifying weekly forecast submissions to ensure the leadership team has sufficient data for decision making.
• Assist the Finance manager with monthly management accounts preparation.
• Develop event accounting to help determine event profitability.
• Full responsibility for weekly forecast reporting and event flash reports.
• Performing audits to ensure adherence to strict internal control.
• Report on any discrepancies, failures to follow procedure or unusual activity.
• Involvement in budget and forecast preparation.
• Complete monthly commission statements to venue clients.
• Continual review of cost analysis to ensure efficiencies are being maximised.
• Support with Year End Audit and preparation of documentation.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Similar experience in a finance role
• Ideally part-qualified ACCA/CIMA or AAT qualified, but qualified or qualified by experience candidates will certainly be considered.
• Worked in a busy environment with tight deadlines.
• Good levels of accuracy
• Ability to problem solve.
• Strong Excel skills. And a good knowledge of other IT systems.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
• Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.
• Flexibility to occasionally be present on event days.
